How Your Score Is Calculated

What the numbers mean

After each session, AI evaluates your speech across all three pillars.

Weekly Score = avg of all sessions (Mon–Sun)
Session score = weighted blend of Substance + Language + Delivery

Directed Mode also adds an on-topic score.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why different scores for each pillar?

Most people are stronger in one area. Separate scores tell you exactly where to focus your practice.

What counts as a filler word?

Words like “um,” “uh,” “like,” and “you know” that don’t add meaning. You manage your personal list in the Filler Library.

Why does my score vary session to session?

Topic familiarity, energy, and pressure all affect your speech. Focus on the weekly trend.

What is Ma (間)?

A Japanese concept meaning intentional pause — the silence before words. Your 30-second prep time in Directed Mode is called Ma.

What is Gravitas?

The quality that makes someone compelling. It emerges when all three pillars are strong. Full Gravitas coaching arrives in Pro Mode.

How long are my sessions stored?

Your sessions are kept indefinitely — scores, transcript, and coaching detail. Open any session from Recent Sessions to revisit its full analysis.

Do I have to use Directed Mode?

No. Freestyle Mode skips the prompt. Both modes score you on the three pillars equally.

Is there a limit to how many sessions I can run?

Yes — up to 15 analyzed sessions per day under our fair-use policy, which applies to all plans including Pro. The limit resets at midnight local time. Hitting the ceiling doesn’t affect your subscription; you can practice again the next day. See our Terms of Service.
